WINDOWS, DOORS AND CURTAIN WALLS HAVE NO STRUCTURAL FUNCTION

In a joint Technical Note with European Aluminium, FAECF advise that given the development of an increasing number of harmonised product standards with

requirements for CE marking, it is becoming more important to have a shared understanding of the products that are either “structural” or “non‐structural”.

WHICH VERSION OF EN 13830 SHOULD A MANUFACTURER COMPLY WITH?

March 2017:

In a joint Technical Note with European Aluminium, FAECF clarifies the present position with EN 13830 given that the 2015 version of the standard is available but the 2003 version is cited in the consolidated list of harmonised standards. So which version of EN 13830 should a manufacturer comply with?

POSITION ON EU ENERGY LABELING FOR WINDOWS

FAECF see the urgent need for domestic energy efficiency and the currently low renovation rates of homes across Europe to be addressed – but we question whether the generic European window energy label as proposed is the answer.
