CPR GUIDELINE FOR ALUMINIUM DOORS, WINDOWS AND CURTAIN WALLING

January 2018:

This guideline was prepared by the European Aluminium Association AISBL (EAA) as well

as the Federation of European Window and Curtain Walling Manufacturer’s Associations

(FAECF) and intends to assist manufacturers fulfilling Construction Product Regulation’s

(CPR) requirements.

JOINT TECHNICAL NOTE FROM EUROPEAN ALUMINIUM AND FAECF:

WINDOWS, DOORS AND CURTAIN WALLING HAVE NO STRUCTURAL FUNCTION

June 2017:

In a joint Technical Note with European Aluminium, FAECF advise that given the development of an increasing number of harmonised product standards with

requirements for CE marking, it is becoming more important to have a shared understanding of the products that are either “structural” or “non‐structural”.

JOINT TECHNICAL NOTE FROM EUROPEAN ALUMINIUM AND FAECF:

WHICH VERSION OF EN 13830 SHOULD A MANUFACTURER COMPLY WITH?

March 2017:

In a joint Technical Note with European Aluminium, FAECF clarifies the present position with EN 13830 given that the 2015 version of the standard is available but the 2003 version is cited in the consolidated list of harmonised standards. So which version of EN 13830 should a manufacturer comply with?

POSITION ON EU ENERGY LABELING FOR WINDOWS

October 2015:

FAECF see the urgent need for domestic energy efficiency and the currently low renovation rates of homes across Europe to be addressed – but we question whether the generic European window energy label as proposed is the answer.
